Printing and copying at 18 black & white pages per minute, the iR2018iis fast enough to handle the needs of the most demanding small office. To avoid wasting time, the first output appears in just 6.90 seconds.

Even with all the features that the iR2018i possesses, the first thing you'll notice is just how simple it is to use. The clear and concise touch panel makes utilising their features a breeze, while a simple device representation on the control panel alerts you when paper needs to be replaced.

Handy internal finishing options

The device offer an internal finishing option to help you produce professional-looking documents economically and efficiently in house. This option provides automatic collating, offset collating and staple finishing with an output capacity of 770 A4 sheets. An additional tray can also be fitted to provide a second output destination with full finishing capability.

Practical front access design

With the practical front-access internal output design, the iR2018i and has the flexibility to be placed in positions that are enclosed on both sides without impeding access. To save on the time spent retrieving output, an optional inner twoway tray allows you to specify a destination for different types of output – tray one for prints and copies and tray two for incoming faxes, for example.

Energy efficient operation

This energy-efficient device saves power when in use and also when it is not. When in use, Canon's unique On-Demand II fixing system only draws power when printing. In stand-by mode, they use only three watts of power per hour.

The product of the latest in environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques, the iR2018i complies with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. The most stringent environmental directive of its type in the world, its aim is to eliminate six hazardous substances from products.

A powerful print controller, featuring Canon's latest chip technology and UFR-II Lite print driver language, and PCL ensures fast, efficient data processing. A high print resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200dpi (maximised) ensures that documents are produced with complete clarity and fidelity. This is ideal for when you're printing documents that require crisp images and accurate diagrams.

You'll also find that the iR2018i is equally efficient with a variety of media sizes and types. They comfortably handle media sizes from A5 to A3 through the standard paper cassettes, as well as envelopes and A6R size media through the stack by-pass unit.

The iR2018i comes with a standard capacity of 250 sheets and can be configured to accommodate 500 or 1,080 sheets.

Particularly useful for organisations where space is at a premium, the iR2018i offers the built-in Super G3 fax option. For even greater convenience, the Super G3 fax option includes 60 one-touch and 140 coded dial keys for quick dialling of frequently used numbers.

Smooth paper handling

An optional 50-sheet duplex automatic document feeder minimises paper handling chores, particularly when printing or faxing large jobs.

Colour Send feature

The Colour Send feature makes sharing information fast, secure and inexpensive by eliminating the expense of printing, sending and storing paper documents. Scan, save and send in one step With this technology, you can scan, save and send colour documents in common digital formats such as TIFF, JPEG, PDF and PDF Compact. In one step you can scan a document and email it, save it on your network, send it as an iFAX over the internet or send it to a folder on your desktop.

PDF compact

With PDF Compact, you don't need to worry about full colour documents clogging your network. By simply selecting PDF Compact when scanning, it will produce a document with all the versatility of regular PDF at up to a tenth the size. Convenient Remote User Interface With the Remote User Interface utility, many features can be controlled from a workstation as easily as they can be from the device. It allows you to check job status and more via a standard Web browser.

Advanced output control features

The ID Management feature enables you to restrict usage to those with a valid ID and password. It can be used to control access to the device's features and set volume limits for up to 10000 individuals or groups.

Embedded remote monitoring software

Canon's optional eMaintenance service is a remote device management solution designed to optimise the productivity of your imageRUNNER device and help save your business time and money. Using Remote Diagnostic System (RDS) software embedded in the iR2018i device, eMaintenance allows a dedicated Canon server to collect automatice device meter readings and monitor maintenance requirements and device performance remotely.
